Long before the global #MeToo movement, Diane Demetre stood up against workplace harassment. After refusing her producer’s sexual advances, she was labelled “too fat” and sacked. She fought back with landmark sexual harassment and wrongful dismissal cases in the late 1980s, among the highest-profile in Australia, which helped pave the way for changes in federal industrial relations law.
Although she lost her career, income, and future at the time, Diane chose not to give up, but to dare more.
